SEVENTEEN’s new special unit, Hoshi X Woozi, is making its debut.
On the 19th, their agency, PLEDIS Entertainment, announced through the fan communication platform Weverse and SEVENTEEN’s official social media channels that the new special unit, Hoshi X Woozi, will release their first single album BEAM on March 10.
The teaser video revealed the Hoshi X Woozi logo and the album title in a striking and intense manner. The monochromatic visuals, alternating between light and darkness, add a fresh and stylish touch. At the end of the video, the release schedule for BEAM was revealed, heightening fans’ expectations.
The album title BEAM refers to the light emitted by Hoshi and Woozi. It represents the originality and self-love they have built through continuous challenges, ever since their trainee days, leading them to become part of the “best K-pop group.”
Hoshi X Woozi formed this special unit after collaborating on the track “Shoot Me” from SEVENTEEN’s 2017 album TEEN, AGE, marking nearly eight years before coming together again. Both are leaders of the performance and vocal teams, and as friends born in 1996, fans are anticipating their unique chemistry and the exceptional quality of their collaboration.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN continues to showcase their limitless musical spectrum with various special units. The unit BSS (Seungkwan, DK, Hoshi) captivated fans with hits like “Without You,” “Fighting” (Feat. Lee Young-ji), and the January release “Jeans.” Jeonghan and Woozi’s unit, who released their first single THIS MAN last June, achieved the highest first-week sales ever for a K-pop unit album.
