BTS's Jimin’s ‘WHO’ Eyes Record for Longest-Charting K-pop Song on Billboard Hot 100; Kendrick Lamar Dominates Billboard

BTS member Jimin continues his impressive run on the Billboard Hot 100 with his solo second album “MUSE” title track “WHO”.

According to the Billboard chart dated February 22 (local time), “WHO” ranked 40th on the Hot 100, dropping four spots from last week’s 36th but still holding strong in the top tier.

Remarkably, “WHO” has now spent 29 weeks on the Hot 100. The only K-pop songs to have charted longer are BTS’s “Dynamite” (32 weeks) and PSY’s “Gangnam Style” (31 weeks). At this pace, “WHO” could break the record for the longest-charting K-pop song.

The album “MUSE” also continues its streak on the Billboard 200, ranking 132nd this week and marking its 30th consecutive week on the chart—extending its record as the longest-charting K-pop solo album.

Meanwhile, “APT.”, the collaboration between BLACKPINK’s Rosé and American pop star Bruno Mars, climbed to 7th on the Hot 100 this week. The track had previously peaked at 3rd for two consecutive weeks, the highest rank ever achieved by a female K-pop artist. Now in its 17th week on the chart, “APT.” serves as the pre-release single for Rosé’s first full-length album “ROSY”, which ranked 31st on the Billboard 200 this week, maintaining its spot in the top tier for 10 consecutive weeks.

Another BLACKPINK member, Lisa, also made waves on the Hot 100, debuting at 69th with her new track “Born Again”, featuring American rapper Doja Cat and British singer-songwriter RAYE. This marks Lisa’s fifth solo entry on the chart and her highest ranking to date.

On the boy group front, Stray Kids continue to dominate with their special album “SKZHOP HIPTAPE – 合 (HOP)”, which ranked 129th on the Billboard 200 this week, maintaining its presence on the chart for 9 consecutive weeks. Stray Kids previously reached #1 on the Billboard 200 with this album.

Meanwhile, this week’s Billboard charts were dominated by hip-hop heavyweight and Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar. Following his massive success at the 67th Grammy Awards, where he took home five awards including Song of the Year and Record of the Year for “Not Like Us”, Lamar reclaimed the top spot on both the Hot 100 and the Billboard Global 200. His surprise-released sixth studio album “GNX” also returned to #1, solidifying his status as a chart powerhouse, further boosted by his recent performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
