BLACKPINK Becomes the First K-pop Girl Group to Perform at Wembley Stadium — First K-pop Act Since BTS in 6 Years

BLACKPINK is set to make history as the first K-pop girl group to perform at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium. This marks the first time a K-pop act has taken the stage there since BTS in 2019, nearly six years ago.

According to YG Entertainment on the 20th, BLACKPINK will hold their “2025 World Tour” at Wembley Stadium on August 15.

Wembley Stadium is considered a dream stage for artists worldwide. Originally built in 1923 for the British Empire Exhibition, the current stadium was reconstructed in 2007. The old Wembley hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1948 London Olympics, while the new Wembley was the venue for the football finals of the 2012 London Olympics.

The stadium also hosted the legendary 1985 charity concert “Live Aid,” a key highlight in the film “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which spotlighted the British band Queen. Other global superstars who have performed there include The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Oasis, Beyoncé, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift, along with BTS.

BLACKPINK’s world tour will kick off on July 5-6 at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. Notably, BLACKPINK will be the first K-pop girl group to hold a solo concert at this emerging concert hotspot.

The tour will take BLACKPINK to ten cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, and Tokyo. Key stops include:

  • SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles) – July 12
  • Soldier Field (Chicago) – July 18
  • Rogers Centre (Toronto) – July 22
  • Citi Field (New York) – July 26
  • Stade de France (Paris) – August 2
  • Ippodromo Snai La Maura (Milan) – August 6
  • Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (Barcelona) – August 9
  • Tokyo Dome – January 16-18, 2026

YG Entertainment stated, “We are preparing a massive-scale tour and top-tier performances, comparable to the record-breaking ‘BORN PINK’ tour, which attracted 1.8 million fans.”

Currently, BLACKPINK members are focused on their solo careers:

  • Rosé released her first full-length album “Rosie” last December, featuring the viral hit “Apartment.”
  • Jisoo dropped her first mini-album “Amortaje” on February 14.
  • Lisa will release her first full-length album “Alter Ego” on February 28.
  • Jennie is set to unveil her first full album “Ruby” on March 7.

The upcoming world tour is expected to create major synergy as the members reunite following their solo projects.
