Hearts2Hearts is set to make their official debut on February 24 with their first single album, The Chase. The album consists of two tracks: the title track “The Chase” and the B-side “Butterflies”.
As global fans eagerly anticipate the group’s unique musical style, Hearts2Hearts revealed key details about their debut album through SM Entertainment on February 19.
“The Chase”: A Dreamy, Mysterious Sound
The title track, The Chase, blends ethereal sound elements and captivating vocal melodies, creating a mystical and enigmatic atmosphere. The track features a strong, distinctive bass synth, with dynamic shifts in mood throughout. The lyrics, penned by Kenzie, convey a confident message: “I will carve my own path,” reflecting both the excitement and curiosity of stepping into a new world.
Describing The Chase, Hearts2Hearts shared:
“This song has a fresh and unique color that we’ve never heard before. Its dreamy and mysterious vibe reminds us of a purple mist.” They added, “The sudden switch in the chorus took us by surprise the first time we heard it. Since the track constantly changes moods, it keeps things interesting for the listener.”
“Butterflies”: A Warm and Emotional R&B Track
The B-side track, “Butterflies”, is a mid-tempo R&B song with a rich bassline, smooth guitar melodies, and harmonious vocals that create a warm and sentimental atmosphere. The lyrics poetically express the moment of finally reaching a long-awaited “today”, offering a contrast to the more intense title track.
Regarding Butterflies, Hearts2Hearts highlighted the blend of melody and lyrics as a key listening point, saying:
“The warm yet refreshing melody pairs beautifully with the lyrics, which express the excitement and hope of a new beginning.” They added, “As soon as we heard it, it felt like butterflies were fluttering around us. Meanwhile, at midnight on February 19, Hearts2Hearts released unit teaser images for The Chase on various official social media platforms. The images showcased Yuha, Jueun, Aina, Ian, and Yeon, highlighting their unique aura and captivating visuals, further heightening anticipation for their debut.
