tvN’s You Quiz on the Block has removed actress Han Ga-in’s episode.
On the 6th, You Quiz stated, “This is not due to the Han Ga-in issue,” explaining, “Some footage from the Asian Games broadcast in that episode requires additional rights clearance. The VOD has been temporarily taken down, but it will be available again once the issue is resolved.”
That day, Han Ga-in’s episode was no longer available on the OTT platform TVING. The episode had also featured short-track national team members Park Ji-won and Kim Gil-li, and included footage from the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games. Some speculated that the removal was influenced by negative public sentiment following the ‘Daechi Mom’ parody controversy.
Recently, a parody video by comedian Lee Su-ji, mimicking mothers in Seoul’s Daechi-dong (an area known for its intense education culture), went viral, leading to renewed scrutiny of Han Ga-in’s daily life. In October of last year, her YouTube channel Free-Spirited Wife Han Ga-in uploaded a video titled The First-Ever Actress Han Ga-in’s Shocking 24-Hour Observation Camera (Crazy Schedule, Do Not Try This). The video showed her spending 15 hours from 7:30 AM to 9 PM driving her first daughter and second son to school and various academies, waiting in the car while eating. After receiving a wave of negative comments, the video was made private on February 25.
Han Ga-in, who married actor Yeon Jung-hoon in 2005, has a son and a daughter. In the You Quiz episode aired on February 26, she addressed the controversy, saying, “I want to clarify this here today. People think I push my kids to study a lot, but that’s absolutely not true.” She added, “My eldest only attends the academies they want to. They’re not the type of kids I could force to study. I myself didn’t realize what I truly liked until I was over 40 because I never got to try different things when I was young. I just want my kids to figure that out earlier.”
